Why the name?

Gentleman’s Relish, also known as Patum Peperium, is an eccentric English condiment, hand-crafted according to a secret recipe since the early 1800s. It is described as having a strong, salty and slightly fishy taste, and best eaten with toast – in short, it is everything a blog should be. Hence the name.
